Barry Cogbill, Clean Energy Consultant
Some call Barry the hardest working person in clean energy in Sonoma County. Wearing several different hats, Barry is passionate about solar and energy efficiency. He got his start in clean energy by installing swimming pool solar heating systems in the early 1990’s. He moved into the financial industry in 1992 and has been a Santa Rosa resident since 1999. Barry installed solar on his home in 2003, and that led him back to the clean tech industry. Since then he has become a full time solar advocate and champion of energy efficiency.
Barry serves on the Board of Directors of Solar Sonoma County. In this capacity, he is a liaison between the local installation community and the Department of Energy, and works with the County of Sonoma to ensure the success of the Sonoma County Energy Independence Program.
He is also the co-chair of the North Bay Chapter of Efficiency First, a building performance non-profit agency, striving to make homes more healthy, comfortable and energy efficient.
Barry’s overarching desire is to inspire property owners to investigate their clean energy options and become part of the clean tech revolution.
Tessa Norris Barrows, Clean Energy Consultant
Tessa has enjoyed a diverse and thriving business development and relationship management career for over 15 years in fields ranging from high tech, wine and now clean tech industries. She believes great business starts with a priority on building strong relationships and a focus on achieving powerful and successful results. When it comes to her clients or business partners, Tessa approaches all of her relationships with great care and professionalism.
As an experienced professional in the solar industry, Tessa has found that often folks who are considering solar solutions for their home or business do not first consider the energy efficiency of their space in planning. Tessa met her business partner, Barry Cogbill, in Spring of 2009 and the two visionaries hit the ground running with a business model focused on client advocacy. They offer a hybrid solution which combines energy efficiency and solar to facilitate the optimal solution for their clients and the planet.
Always driven with a strong sense of purpose, Tessa’s enthusiasm and passion for educating her community on the benefits of becoming energy independent is what fuels her now.
She is also a Reiki Master – working with energy in a different, yet highly beneficial way, to promote relaxation and ease in the lives of her holistic clients. Tessa can also be found at the Napa Valley Community College playing water polo or blowing bubbles scuba diving in some tropical paradise with her husband Dan.
